Get Some Stories

Here’s a list of my stories (which you can read now) and my books (which you can pay me for). As always, if you like something, telling me so is the surest way to get me to make more!

Stories

  • Bleak Rhapsody: If you tell me something is impossible, you make me want to do it.
  • Day in the Life of a Dracoloth: Fiction for the game TERA. A background tale to show the game’s dracoloth’s, which are dragon-like creatures who you should watch your back around.
  • Day in the Life of a Sorcerer: More TERA fiction, which illustrates how sorcerers work in the game, and also how the elves in the game think and act.
  • Day in the Life of a Naga Clawrider: My most popular TERA fiction, about the monstrous nagas, and in particular those that ride massive armored crabs. Apparently I ruined people’s head-canon about the nagas forever.
  • Hope Springs: In addition to a dozen other projects, Fran has been working on a “Weird West” novel about Grace Clayborn, a lesbian card sharp. You can read a draft of the first three chapters here.

Books (with Previews)

  • Vigilant: A fantasy novel I co-wrote with my wife Sarah. In many adventure stories, the heroes get their quest from a dying, desperate soldier who staggers into their tavern. This is that soldier’s story: his dreams, his training, his heroic and shameful moments, and how he becomes the start of someone else’s adventure.
  • Quantum Zoo: A delightful anthology I wrote a story for. Zoos of every description, and stories of many styles. Like all zoos, there’s something for everyone here. Read a snippet from the story here.
  • The Stonecatchers: The first of many books I plan to write about the world of Primus, collecting the true folk tales of a fictional planet. Read a snippet of one of the stories here.
  • Nerve Endings: Anthology of stories about trans characters written by trans authors. Love, sex, and messy emotions. Read a snippet from the story here.
